Another season of racing is here - Let's recall how the cornerstone of the Road Classics racing series was born. A unique piece with a simple and playful design was created. We are pleased that our work turned out well. We bring you a short article about the design creation process, the introduction of the limited edition, and the first start of the Road Classics series at Ještěd.
Road Classics – a race series for true cycling enthusiasts
Every country has its cycling monuments. Just as Belgium has its Flanders or France its Roubaix, the Czech Republic has its iconic places. It is our colleagues at Road Classics who seek out these monuments and give us the opportunity to enjoy these magnificent places in the saddle. In 2023, it all started and the choice immediately fell on the majestic Jested with its famous architectural building. We’ve been there from the start and have prepared R2 Reason in a custom design by Road Classics.
Summer 2023, Jizera Mountains
Introducing the Road Classics identity with all partners and ambassadors. A great opportunity to create a truly unique Road Classics frame design. We prepared the R2 Reason frame with only a base coat of paint and sprays in Road Classics colours. The creative show could begin and all the partners of this project were part of the design itself. The high quality finish of the frame, which added an incredible shine, was then done by our professional painter. The logos were made on the frame using cut stencils that were taken down before clearcoating.
Introducing the R2 Reason Road Classics Edition at SBCR
We then presented the final R2 Reason Road Classics to our colleagues and bike dealers Repete, Ski and Bike Centrum Radotín. The whole event took place in the beautiful industrial backdrop of the former Vindyš factory. Together we reached out to our cycling communities and an incredible unveiling of our work together was created. We are delighted that the R2 Reason Road Classics edition feels like a revelation and fits perfectly into the visual identity of Road Classics.
D-Day – Road Classics Ještěd
Over 700 enthusiastic cyclists set off from the square in Liberec towards the peaks of the Jizera Mountains. The route took all racers into the heart of the Jizera Mountains, where they encountered steep climbs, technical descents, and broken panel roads “Pané”. The finish of the race then featured an ascent to the monumental mountain Ještěd.
New session, new momuments
The premiere of Road Classics on Ještěd in the Jizera Mountains was fantastic! Perfect organization, hundreds of enthusiastic cyclists, and beautiful scenery made this successful event possible. That’s why we can look forward to more monuments this season, including in Pálava, Klínovec, and again on Ještěd. The Repete will be on again!

The R2 Reason is our uncompromising modern road bike. It is a powerful and fast machine that effectively translates monotonous muscle play into motion. The frame itself is made from high strength Columbus Spirit HSS steel, which gives the bike the essential characteristics – perfect rigidity, long life, and unique comfort. It also presents the possibility to use tires up to 700x28c. Technical details determine the nature of our products, their design is based on function. The tapered head tube and T47 bottom bracket ensure ideal energy transfer. To facilitate the use of disc brakes and thru axles, we have developed our own stainless steel flat-mount dropouts.
